Administrative HistoryA September 1877 notice to parents reads: ‘The Council have determined, with the approval of the Education Department, to close this School on Friday next; and to continue it as an Infant School only, at the same fee. All boys above 7 will have to go to other schools. All girls above 7 can be admitted to the Whitelands Practising School where the fee is 6d. a week….. The Commercial School, 9s. a quarter in advance and extras, is nearly full.’
