The file contains Labanotation scores of folk and ethnic dances from the Scottish Highlands, the Scottish Mainland, and South Africa. The Labanotation scores are photocopies, made mid- to late-20th Century, with originals dated mid- to late-20th Century. Some of the scores have been annotated, with annotations made mid- to late-20th Century. The Scottish Highland dances are the following: - Labanotation of basic positions of the feet and arms - "Argyll Broadswords" - "Blue Bonnets over the Border" - "Earl of Erroll" - "Flora MacDonald's Fancy" - "Ghillie Callum" - "Highland Fling" (five Labanotated scores) - "Foursome Reel" (two Labanotated scores) - "Reel of Tulloch" (two Labanotated scores) - "Rose of Benbecula" - "Sailor's Hornpipe" (three Labanotated scores) - "Schottische Step" - "Scottish Country Dance" - "Highland Scottische", a couple dance - "Shean Truabhs" - "Seann Triubhas" - "Sword Dance" (two Labanotated scores) - "The Village Maid" - Also includes typed notes on Scottish dance, written mid-20th Century. The Scottish Mainland dances are the following: - "The Foursome Reel" and "The Reel of Tulloch" in country dance style - "The Black Mill" (two Labanotated scores; both in German) - "Dashing White Sargeant" - "Lady Auckland's Reel" - "Meg Merrilees" - "Petronella" (two Labanotated scores) - "Provost Skene's House", by Isobel Cramb (two Labanotated scores) - "Scottish Lilt" The South African dance is the following: - "Pata Pata"
