The file contains Labanotation of folk and ethnic dances from China.
Most of the Labanotation scores are photocopies, made mid- to late-20th Century, with originals dated mid- to late-20th Century. A few of the Labanotation scores are originals, dating to late-20th Century.

- Two published books called "Labanotation 1: Elementary Labanotation with 20 Chinese and Foreign Folk Dances" by Zhang Ling, and "Labanotation 2: Folk Dances of Chinese Ethnic Minority Nationals" by Dai Ai Lian and Feng Bi Hua. Both books are in Chinese. The books were published by the China Dancer's Association China Labanotation Research Centre, 1984 and 1986. Included with the books is a covering letter that was sent with the books from Dai Ai Lian to Knister [full name not given], letter written 1997; and handwritten English translations of the front covers and inside covers of both books, presumably translated by Dai Ai Lian, c1997.
