DescriptionTables of contents, in English, can be found at the front of the file; one of the tables of contents dates to c1981; the other table of contents is in French and is a c1981 photocopy of a c1762 list of dances published by Mlle. Castagnery, Paris, [France]. The file contains photocopies of published 18th Century French contredanses that have been photocopied from originals held in the Joly Collection at the National Library of Ireland, Dublin. Some of the dances have been stamped in the c20th Century with the stamp of the Joly Collection at the National Library of Ireland. Photocopies made c1981. - Also includes a photocopy of a letter from Ann Hutchinson Guest to the National Library of Ireland, ordering the photocopies found in the file. Letter dated 1981; photocopy made c1981. Contains the following contredanses (each dance comprising a written description, a musical score and dance notation [but not Labanotation]), published c1760s by Landrin and Castagnery, Paris, [France]. Also includes: - Photocopies of musical scores (in French) for first violin for the following dances: "2em. Menuet", "Menuet Anglais", "Menuet d'Armide", "Gavotte du Meme Opera" ["Gavotte" from "d'Armide"?], and "2 Menuet de Mr Vincent". Musical scores published c1760s; photocopies made c1981.
