Description | This series consists of letters of reference (i.e., testimonials); documents and photographs from Mary Alfreda Coward's activities as student at Froebel Educational Institute, teacher and headmistress at Winifred House, war service at Heston Farm, teacher at Lyon's Creche; three notebooks from Froebel Educational Institute titled "Handwork Notes," "The Practice of Education Lecture Notes" (two notebooks with this title); two pocket diaries; and a death notice for Miss Coward. Of note, it includes photographs of Missionary Retreat, Challoner Street Summer School. It also includes photographs from argricultural war service at Heston Farm, September 1916 and WWI Land Army Service Certificate. Mary Coward attended Froebel Educational Institute between 1914 and 1916, taught at Lyons Creche between 1918 and 1921. Winifred House was an invalid children's convalescent hospital home. |
