| Description | This series consists of five notebooks titled "Burleigh Farm," "Mammal Book," "Bird Book," "Tree Book" and "Botany Book." Notebooks include press cuttings and original photography. Heather V. Birrell attended Froebel Educational Institute in 1944 and 1946, enrolled in the two-year war-time course. Her studies in 1944 were conducted at Knebworth. She received a nursery/infant teacher's certificate and was first in class in nature study along with Freda Haworth and Hutton. She later received an academic diploma in education (1963), Master's of Education from Tufts University (1971) and Ph.D. from Syracuse University (1974).
