DescriptionThis series consists of the papers of Eglantine Jebb, Principal of Froebel Educational Institute between 1932 and 1955. Her papers consist of administrative files, correspondence, invitations, writings for pamphlets and a variety of occasions and events, pamphlets written by others and programmes for student events with original illustrations. Of note, this series includes information about the history of Grove House, Madame Michaelis, writing by Ricardus C. Jebb, and a circular to students informing them of changes to school procedures due to the Second World War. Administrative files contain mostly correspondence, and file folders are labelled with the following titles: Adshead, Miss Gladys (student 1915-1916); Bedford (Froebel) Training College; Bhopal, Princess Abida, Sultan of; Buchanan and Co. Writing includes pamphlets on the topics of: Appeal for College Building Fund, Educational Openings for Froebel Trained Teachers, History of Grove House, Knebworth, Lulham Memorial Fund, Montefiore Memorial Fund, New Course of Training in Natural History, Nursery School Training, Personal Memoir of Her Sister, and Rhodes Trustees.
