| Description | This series consists of the papers of Esther Lawrence (1862-1944), Principal of Froebel Educational Institute between 1901 and 1931. Her papers consist of correspondence, including letters to Mrs. Lulham, writing, speeches presented to students, notes on the history of Froebel Educational Institute, a book of the signatures of people impacted by Miss Lawrence presented to her at the time of her retirement from Froebel Educational Institute, invitations to lectures presented by others at her home, a catalogue of Miss Lawrence's books (1898), a notebook titled "Outline of Froebel's Doctrine in Pedagogies of the Kindergarten," a teacher's certificate, memorials in honour of Miss Lawrence, and a copy of a portrait of Miss Lawrence. Her writings are titled "The Training of Kindergarten and Preparatory School Teachers," "The Unity of Mind and Body," and "Nations and Nurseries." Other correspondents include Alice Woods, Arthur Symonds and George H. Duckworth. |
