| Description | The file consists of two large notebooks inscribed "The American Tours. 1949." and "The American Tours. 1950. 1953." It includes British and US American press cuttings from various sources related to the touring of the Sadler's Wells Ballet in the USA. Their content relates to performances as well as the dancers and their activities outside the performances. The sources and dates of many press cuttings have not been included. One partially cut page from The Christian Science Monitor from 10 October 1949 has not been mounted and included loosely in the 1949 volume.
Great care has been taken to the general layout and positioning as well as inscription. |
