DescriptionThe suitcase was created in the early- to mid-20th Century. On the front of the suitcase is a label stating that the suitcase was transported on the LNER [London and North Eastern Railway] as a parcel from Norwich Thorpe [railway station, Norfolk] via Liverpool Street [railway station, London] [the final destination is not stated]; the label was added in the c1920s-c1940s. The suitcase has been lined with a sheet of newspaper from "The Daily Telegraph", 1 March 1952. [This suitcase was used to hold some of Richmal Crompton's documents when they were deposited with Archives and Special Collections.]
