Title[Richmal Crompton] Yale house-key and two pencils [both perhaps belonging to Richmal Crompton and later owned by Richmal Ashbee, niece of Richmal Crompton]
Date20th Century
Extent1 file
DescriptionThe file contains the following: - A yale key with an accompanying label [written by Richmal Crompton] that says: "Lamburn: spare front door key" [presumably this was a key to Richmal Crompton's house (Richmal Crompton was also known as Richmal Crompton Lamburn)]. The key is stored in an envelope addressed to Mr and Mrs P Ashbee [Richmal Ashbee, niece of Richmal Crompton, and Richmal Ashbee's husband, Paul Ashbee]. The key, label and envelope were created in the mid-20th Century. - Two thin pencils made by TJ and J Smith Ltd. The sides of the pencils are painted brown in colour. The pencils were created in the mid-20th Century. [It is not known how the key and the pencils relate to each other. Perhaps the pencils were also owned at one time by Richmal Crompton?]
