| Description | Skeletal information only in first three volumes, typically: name, admission number, date of admission, address. Some post-Whitelands biographical details noted, usually re marriage or decease in first two volumes, but far more detail in subsequent volumes. First entry in volume I is Eliza Ingram. Vols I-II include the occasional letter (eg one sent to Miss Smith by former 1858 student, Sarah Baily now age 82). Third volume includes some news cuttings and death announcements. Volume IV onwards use a template to record more information, eg date of birth, prizes and exam results, and include a ‘remarks’ section for career details, and are often indexed inside front cover. From 1906 onwards each volume is for a discreet cohort / two-year group.
