35 letters to Faunthorpe from heads of other training colleges and the Education Department, Whitehall evidently in response to a circular 17th Dec 1874 from him criticising the content of a literature exam and suggesting amendments to the teacher training syllabus to include Shakespeare and Milton. Responses refer also to teaching science and languages to female students and the inequality in the treatment of Science and Languages papers.
