DescriptionIncludes the following: - Correspondence, certificates and booklets, dated 1954-c1960s, sent to subscribers of "Great Books of the Western World", published by Encyclopaedia Britannica in collaboration with the University of Chicago, Illinois, [USA]. (Some of the correspondence is annotated; annotations made in the c1960s.) - Lists of Choreographers in the UK, dated c1981 and c1985. The list created in c1985 gives contact details for the choreographers of "Excerpts Notated by Jude Siddall, 1984, for Gulbenkian Grant re O Level Studies". - Blank agreement forms for choreographers to give the Language of Dance Centre, London, permission to publish Labanotated scores of their works. Blank forms dated c1960s-c1980s. - Introductory leaflets to Labanotation including: a leaflet titled "This is Dance Notation: An Introduction to Labanotation - The Method of Writing Movement" created by the Dance Notation Bureau, New York, [USA], in the c1960s; a leaflet tiled "What is Labanotation?" [created by the Language of Dance Centre, London?] created in the c1980s; and a leaflet titled "What is Labanotation / Kinetography Laban?" [created by the Language of Dance Centre, London?] created in the c1970s. - Handwritten lesson plans for a Labanotation course given at London College in 1967-1968, and for an AES [full name not given] Labanotation course in 1968-1969. - Photocopies of Labanotated scores used as a training exercise in checking Labanotation for accuracy. The scores are of "EnchaƮnement of [Martha?] Graham Exercises", "Two Russian Character Exercises (Milieu)", "Ballet Class Exercises au Milieu" and an unnamed score; the scores were created in the c1980s and photocopied in the c1980s. The unnamed score is annotated to mark the errors in the Labanotation; annotations made c1980s. - Information about a film introducing Labanotation, produced by John Wheeler, which was available to rent from the Language of Dance Centre, London. Includes: a leaflet, dated c1970s, advertising the film; a questionnaire, dated c1970s, about the film, which was sent out alongside the film when it was rented; and notes, dated c1974, describing the rental process for the film. - Notes about the usage of parts of Labanotation, arising from discussions between notators; notes created 1980-1984. - Agenda and minutes of a meeting of "LN [Labanotation] Colleagues", to discuss current work and projects, held in London on 22 November 1986. - Blank agreement forms between the Language of Dance Centre, London, and tutors of Labanotation correspondence courses, setting out what the tutors will be paid and what their responsibilities will be; blank forms dated 1985.
