DescriptionThis series consists of records pertaining to the construction, design (including interior design and garden design), maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds that belonged to Froebel Educational Institute. It includes correspondence; architectural drawings, such as sketches and plans; photographs; contracts; financial statements; and invoices. Common topics pertaining to maintenance and repair include boilers, electricity, furnishings and upholstery, gas, the gymnasium, heating, kitchen and pantry equipment, storage units, telephones, and water supply. It includes correspondence with the following architects: Verner O. Rees, Norman and Dawbarn, Fernand Billerey. Some of the contractors and merchants documented include: A.D. Dench and Co, Bluthner Pianos, Druce and Co Furnishers and Decorators, Elys, Franks Harris Bros, G.W. Ransom Furnishing Specialists, Gazes Building and Engineering Division, J.H.
